A Note on the Notation

This notation has several advantages:
Since it is a single line and involves no diagram, it is easy to copy and paste into messages.
You can access the Viewer simply by clicking on the link in your mail program..
It is very close to the most concise notation possible.
One advantage it has over algebraic notation is that there is built-in error check: each line must account for all eight squares in its row.
It is an easy scheme to remember: White in caps.
It is widely known, especially in Europe.
Easy implementation resulted in a Viewer that loads quickly.
The notation easily fits under a board diagram when a double check is needed.
